Giannis Oikonomou on the oboe and Kassandra Fountoulaki on the piano present the recital Romanticism and Today.
The two distinguished artists will take the audience on a musical journey that starts from the Romantic era, with works by Schumann and Liszt, passes through France of Poulenc and Bozza, taking the most romantic musical forms, those of the romance, the ballad, of the sonata and the fantasy, and it reaches today.
The recital will end superbly, with the three pieces for oboe and piano by Giannis Gikas entitled "The Ballerina", "The Soldier" and "The Magic Clock".
The work is inspired by various paintings of great painters such as Edgar Degas, Salvador Dali and Emanuel Leutze.
Three protagonists, three small pieces compose this musical fairy tale which, however, has no story. Or rather, it has as a story the creation of the imagination of each listener, the one that will spring from his inner world according to the musical stimuli of the work. The beginning of the fiction already starts from the reading of the title, passes through the bright and complicated faces of the ballerina and the soldier and ends in a magic clock. A magical clock that works, binds or breaks - at the will of its creator...
