The Opus I Trio, one of the widely acclaimed and most active chamber music ensembles in Greece, aims to highlight once more, through three interesting and attractive works, the inner pulse of the writing of their creators and the circumstances of their time.
Written in the same year as The Marriage of Figaro (1786), Mozart's trio KV496 reflects the particular mood and atmosphere of the opera. In contrast, Rachmaninoff's gray-hued youth trio (1892) is introspective and philosophical. Finally, Clara Schumann's trio (1846) clearly shows the female genius and the influence that the famous pianist had on her far more famous composer husband Robert, who composed his first trio a year later.
