Marilena Dori was born in Athens in 1974. She got her diploma in flute in 1994 from the «Athenaeum» Conservatory, with honours, first prize and gold medal (S. Gadedi's class). In 1998 she graduated from the Music School of Karlsruhe cum laude (John Wright's class). She completed postgraduate studies in the same German Music School with honours in July 2000. She participated in flute seminars with William Benett, Pierre-Yves Artaud, Jean-Claude Gérard and Renate Greiss-Armin. She won first prize in flute «Jugend Musiziert» in 1991 in Rome.

Since 1993 she is the first flute in the Orchestra of Colours. She also works with the Orchestra Camerata Friends.

She has appeared as a member of small chamber music ensembles in Greece, France and Germany and as a soloist with the Orchestra of Colours and the Camerata in the Greek Festival and the Athens Concert Hall. She was a member of flutes ensemble "Pnoes" and the woodwind quintet "Septeria" and has worked with the "New Greek Quartet". She represented the Greek Radio in the event "North - South" in Madrid in 1993. In 1999 she was a member of the Youth Orchestra of the Munich Philharmonic. She recorded for the Southwest German Radio (SWR) and the Third Programme of Greek Radio. She teaches at the Philippos Nakas Conservatory.
