Aglaia Kokkiou was born in Agrinio and at the age of 5 she started piano lessons at the Conservatory of 'Eleni Daskalaki'. In 1998, she obtained the Harmony degree with Honours. In 2002 she was admitted to the Department of Music Studies of the National Kapodistrian University of Athens. In 2002, she obtained a Piano Degree with Honours. From 2005 she started working as a piano and advanced theory teacher. In 2015 she obtained Counterpoint Degree with Honours. In 2017 she obtains a Fugue Degree with Honours.
She has obtained the title of Professor A' at the Ministry of Culture and has taken part in many graduation exams of the Ministry of Culture as a member of examination committees.
Having many years of experience in Advanced Theory, she takes pride in her students being admitted into Higher Educational Institutions with Panhellenic and qualifying exams of the respective Music Universities.
In addition to her musical studies, she has specialized in Pedagogical Systems of Music. She attended seminars on the Systems of great educators such as Carl Orff, Zoltan Kodaly, Zak Dalcroze.
Since 2015, she has been a seminar lecturer, training adults in music studies programs, in seminars of Ministry of Education. She has also been trained in PWDs and is a member of AMKE Music & Art 4all taking part in numerous presentations in schools and educational institutions, with performances and presentations, with the primary goal of including people with disabilities.
In addition to music education, she is a Classical Ballet teacher, having obtained the professional diplomas of the Russian "Vaganova" System.
She is a final student in the Department of Orchestra Conducting, taught by conductor Loukas Karytinos, where she was admitted entrance exams in October 2017.
Today she continues her specialization in the Composition department, while from 2021 she attends clarinet lessons with the clarinetist and regular member of
the State Orchestra of Athens Vasilis Bratos.
Her collaboration with the Philippos Nakas Conservatory in the fields of theoretical courses and preparation for music schools-universities began in 2023.
