Alexandros Psomopoulos was born in 1985 and he originates from Athens. He is a Graduate of the Department of Folk & Traditional Music specializing in Bouzouki and completed his Master's studies at the University Of East London on Child Psychology in Education.
During his academic studies he systematically dealt with the academic subject "Greek Folk and Traditional Music", in the framework of which he was trained to be able to teach courses such as:
• Harmony of folk and traditional music the aim of which is to teach folk ways as well as to harmonize them, making use of western music word notation.
• Organology, the aim of which is the teaching of musical instruments of popular culture and their role in musical performance.
• Rhythmology, the aim of which is to recognize and learn the rhythms of popular and traditional music.
• Music ensembles, in the context of which the students will become familiar with the musical partnership.
• Bouzouki, which in the context of his studies is also part of his specialization.

An important part of his education are the long hours of music pedagogy and practical lessons, which provided him with a sufficient theoretical background and practical experience in these subjects.
He has attended for four semesters courses in organology, laboratory (practical learning) and theoretical, specializing in the santouri, the violin and the brass instruments of Greek traditional music. He was also a member of traditional music ensembles for four semesters, through which he was taught what it takes to be able to organize and conduct them.
He also holds a degree in advanced Harmony and Counterpoint (Arta Conservatory).

From 1995 to 2009 he studied alongside the greatest bouzouki teachers in Greece such as Thanasis Polykandriotis, Themis Papavasileiou, Manolis Pappos, Manolis Michalakis and Stathis Savvidis. From the academic year 2023-24 he teaches at the Philippos Nakas Conservatory.
