Manos Athanasiadis was born in Athens. He started his involvement with music and the piano at the age of six with composer G. Kouroupos and then with Nylian Perez-Ioannidi and Maria Efstratiadi.

He studied Advanced Theory (Harmony-Contrast-Orchestration) with conductor and composer Yiannis Ioannidis and fugue and composition with composer Evangelos Kokkoris. He attended conducting lessons with F. Papadopoulos. He studied on an internal scholarship in the Department of Modern Music of the Philippos Nakas Conservatory during the period 1993-97 with Takis Paterelis, obtaining a jazz piano diploma. He then attended improvisation classes with Markos Alexiou.

In 1999 he attended courses in Milan with the famous Italian pianist E. Pierranungi and later with the famous American pianist Benny Green, as well as seminars on 20th century modern composition technique with Theodore Antoniou. From 1996 to 2017 he worked as a professor of Jazz piano and advanced theory in the Modern Music Department at the Philippos Nakas Conservatory.

Since 1995 he has been collaborating with well-known Greek artists, participating in musical performances that left their mark on the artistic events of Athens, while he often performs in various Jazz groups and also with his own trio in Athenian clubs. From 2002 to 2008 he collaborated with the ensemble "Cammer-ton" performing at many festivals and concert venues (Athens Concert Hall, etc.). In September 2007, excerpts from Duke Ellington's Sacred Concerts were presented in his own orchestrations, for the first time in Greece, as part of the 7th Festival of Religious Music in Patmos.
From the 2007-08 season until 2020 he performed every Saturday at the Train on the Roof with the quartet "The jazz express" and on Sundays in the 2018-19, 2019-2020 seasons in his sold out solo performance entitled: "one night stand".
In April 2012 he released his first album entitled "Everybody Swings" with well-known Jazz standards in his own arrangements.
In December 2012, his teaching book "The vocabulary of the Jazz pianist" was published by Philippos Nakas publications.
In May 2014, his work "Piano Preludes" was released by Philippos Nakas publications.
In 2017 he took over the artistic direction of the modern department of the conservatory/arts center "Acropolis".
In July 2018, he released his first poetry collection entitled "Singular Number" by Batsiola publications.
In August 2018, he took over the artistic direction of the Dafni-Ymittos Municipal Conservatory until 2020.
From September 2021 he took over the modern-jazz piano class at the National Conservatory of Nea Smyrni.
In September 2021 he released his second personal album "What are you doing at such a time at night", a work with a strong jazz color, in his own music - lyrics and orchestrations.
