Flute recital Theodora Apostolidou | Piano, Nikos Zafranas (Series of Concerts for young musician)

Going through its 35th edition, the concert series "The Young for the Young" is a platform for expression and an important institution for the promotion of elite young performers of classical music. Theodora Apostolidou, worthily representing the new generation of talented flautists, presents an interesting program on Monday, May 27 at the Concert Hall of the Philippos Nakas Conservatory of Thessaloniki. Nikos Zafranas accompanies on the piano.

Twenty-one-year-old Theodora Apostolidou is a student in the Music Science and Art department of PAMAK, specializing in flute, in the class of Katerina Zenz. She started flute lessons in 2008 at the age of six at the Alexandroupoli Municipal Conservatory. She graduated from the class of Veselin Belomazov of the Municipal Conservatory of Kavala in June 2018 and was awarded a Flute Diploma with a grade of "Excellent 10" and "distinction 1st prize". She completed her theoretical music studies at the Municipal Conservatory of Alexandroupolis in 2018 and holds a Degree in Harmony with a grade of "Excellent 10".
She was awarded: 2nd' prize (winds category) in the 2023 "Ilias Kouskouvelis" annual Concerto Competition of the Department of Music Science & Art, 1st prize in the 2023 "Ilias Kouskouvelis" annual Concerto Competition of the Department of Music Science & Art (flute-guitar duet with Konstantina Malapani), 1st prize in the 4th Panhellenic Flute Competition "Urs Rutiman" (2019-Category B: 15-18 years old), 1st prize in the Wind category of the 4th Panhellenic Music Competition of the Group for Unesco Arts, Speech, of Sciences of Greece (2018), as well as 2nd prize in the "Chamber Music" category (Flute-Guitar Duet) at the Competition of the 3rd Thessaloniki International Guitar Festival (2016).
She has performed solo recitals at the Municipal Conservatories of Kavala and Alexandroupolis and participates in Chamber Music concerts. In August 2018 she participated in the NFA (National Flute Association) Convention in Florida, USA. Since 2020 she is a member of the Hellenic Youth Symphony Orchestra. In 2021 she joined the Cosmoclassical Youth Orchestra for the staging of Mozart's opera, Cosi Fan Tutte. In the summer of 2022 she was selected for the Old Ox European Masterclass as part of Stockholm's Kammarmusikfestival. In March 2023, she participated in the cycle of musical events "New Talent of Classical Music" of the ΣFMTH at the Thessaloniki Concert Hall, while in August 2023 she participated in the 8th Pau Festival. Since September 2023, she has been a member of the Jovenata Ensemble, while she was selected after an audition as an extraordinary member of K.O.Th. for the 2023-2024 season.
She has attended seminars and courses both in Greece and abroad with: Gitte Marcusson, Gaby Pas-Van Riet, Wally Hase, Felix Reggli, Maria Fedotova, Nikolos Dimopoulos, Lorna McGhee, Denis Buriakov, etc.
