Violin recital Anastasia Sgara (piano Athanasia Kordi) | Series of concerts for Young Musicians

Going through its 34th cycle, the concert series "The Young for the Young" is a platform for expression and an important institution for the promotion of elite young performers of classical music. A young violinist with important studies and distinctions gives a recital on Saturday, May 27 at 8 pm at the Philippos Nakas Concert Hall.

Anastasia Sgara was born in June 1997 in Athens to a family of musicians. She started violin lessons at a very young age initially with her father and piano lessons with her mother and continued violin lessons with Apollon Grammatikopoulos. In January 2014, she completed her studies at the Athens Conservatory, obtaining a Diploma in Violin with cum laude and First Prize.
She has actively participated in seminars with famous soloists and renowned teachers such as Lukas David, Grigori Zhislin, Herwig Zack, Michaela Martin, Julian Rachlin, Christoph Poppen, Leonidas Kavakos, Ariadne Daskalakis and Albrecht Winter.
She was awarded in the Panhellenic Music Competition "TALENTA FILONA" in two different categories (2006, 2013) with First Prize and a cash prize for her outstanding performance. In 2020, she received a prize money award at the 7th Panhellenic Ismini Carter Violin Competition from the Aikaterini Laskaridi Foundation.
She has been invited by Dora Bakopoulou to take part in the 3rd (2008) and 5th (2010) International Music Festival of Aegina. In 2015 she took part in the Tinos Music Festival. She also participated in the 39th (2017) and 41st (2019) International Music Festival of Santorini.

She has repeatedly performed as a soloist with the Student Orchestra of the Athens Conservatory and with the Orchestra of Colors under the direction of Miltos Logiadis. In 2013 she recorded for Hellenic Radio (ERT).
In 2014 she performed as a soloist at the Athens Concert Hall with the State Orchestra of Athens.
She was a member of the summer school of the European Union Youth Orchestra in Grafenegg, Austria in 2013. In 2018 she took part in the first concert of the Hellenic Youth Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Dionysis Grammenos. In 2021, she took part in its summer tour under the direction of Dionysis Grammenos, including at the Konzerthaus in Berlin.
          
She has taught at the conservatory “Musikschule Wuppertal / Nachhilfeinstitut Wuppertal” in Wuppertal, the conservatory “Musikschule Auftakt” in Cologne and the conservatory “Musikschule Metronom” in Bonn, Germany.

In 2018, she started studying at the Cologne Music Academy in Germany (degree: Bachelor of Music, violin), in the class of Professor Solenne Paidassi. From 2019 she continued her studies in the class of Professor Albrecht Winter. In 2020, she entered the class of professor Annette von Hehn, with whom she completed her graduate studies at the Music Academy of Cologne in Germany in the summer of 2022. She is a member of the Athens State Orchestra.
