7th Music Competition Club Unesco

The Group for the UNESCO of Art Literature and Science of  Greece, serving the ideals of Culture and wishing to become a supporter of the new musical talents of our country, announces the 7th Panhellenic Music Competition, for 2022. The competition is held with the support of the Philippos Conservatory Nakas, 41 Ippokratous, 106 80, Athens.
The purpose of the competition is the promotion of artistic value and the moral reward of young musicians.
Contestants will be evaluated by a jury, consisting of recognized and accomplished teachers and musicians.
The President of the Competition is the Director of the Symphony Orchestra of the Municipality of Athens and composer Eleftherios Kalkanis.

Participants will compete in the following music categories:
WOODWINDS (Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Classical Saxophone, Bassoon, Trumpet, Trombone, French Horn, Tuba)
STRINGS (Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass)
PIANO
GUITAR
TRADITIONAL INSTRUMENTS (Bouzouki, Tambourine, Oud, Clarinet, Sandour, Kanonaki, Cretan-Pontian Lyra, Traditional Violin, Lute)
OPERA
TRADITIONAL SONG

The following age categories apply to all categories of instruments:
TEENAGERS: from 12 to 18 years (17 and 12 months), completed by the date of the competition
ADULTS: from 18 to 28 years (27 and 12 months), completed by the date of the competition
For Operatic and Traditional song:
ADULTS: from 18 to 28 years old (women), from 18 to 30 years old (men)

The Unesco Group will award prizes (A', B', C') and commendations and only the 1st prize (for each competitive category of instruments and voices) will receive the cash prize of €300.
The Unesco Group, in cooperation with the President of the competition, reserves the right to award a Special Music Award "UNESCO T.L.E.L.E. Group". to a single contestant, as long as the conditions of an exceptionally high interpretive performance are met.
The Special Music Award is accompanied by the cash prize of €150.

The competition will take place on November 11, 12 and 13 at the Concert Hall of Philippos Nakas Conservatory (41 Ippokratous, 106 80, Athens), without the presence of an audience. In 2023, a date will be set for the awarding ceremony of the prizes, commendations and commemorative diplomas of the competition, as well as a concert, where the winners will perform.
The closing date for participation declarations is Friday, October 21, 2022 (postmarked).
