On Wednesday, March 29, the event for the official announcement of the academic collaboration of the Philippos Nakas Conservatory with the Boston Conservatory at Berklee was held in a festive atmosphere in the presence of a large number of guests at the Philippos Nakas Conservatory.

The announcement was particularly warmly received by those invited to the Philippos Nakas Concert Hall. After a brief review of the long historical path and collaboration of the Philippos Nakas Conservatory and Berklee, the speakers described the timeline of the preparation for the recognition/matching of the Conservatory's courses and their equivalence with those of the Boston Conservatory, work done with the guidance and essential contribution of Vassilis Kitsos, artistic director of the Philippos Nakas Conservatory in Thessaloniki and Christos Dovas, professor of advanced theory at the Conservatory. The speakers also described in detail the framework of the cooperation, talked about the organization of scholarship auditions and then answered many interesting questions of the attendees about the bachelor program and the benefits that this agreement has in store for students.
Since its foundation in 1989, the Philippos Nakas Conservatory has as one of its goals to protect the efforts of students, to ensure and support educational continuity and to propose solutions at an academic and professional level in Greece and abroad in accordance with current legislation. The cooperation agreement between the Boston Conservatory at Berklee and the Philippos Nakas Conservatory is a milestone not only for the Conservatory itself, but also for the upgrading of music studies in Greece.
