Sofia Koupidou was born in Veria where she started violin lessons at the age of 7 at the Filippos Conservatory of Veria (P. Karagiannis class). In 2021 she received a Violin Diploma from the Philippos Nakas Conservatory of Thessaloniki (class of Paraskevi Karagianni) with grade Excellent and first prize. She is a graduate of the Department of Music Studies of the School of Fine Arts of the Aristoteles University of Thessalonik, majoring in music pedagogy.
She has been a member of the Aristoteles University Symphony Orchestra under conductor Dimitris Dimopoulos, the youth symphony orchestra of the Thessaloniki Music Hall (MOYSA) under conductor Thodoris Papadimitriou and she is a member of the string ensemble of the Philippos Nakas Conservatory of Thessaloniki.
She has taken part as an active member in seminars of conductor and teacher Giorgos Chatzinikos, in a Violin Masterclass with Christos Kanettis as well as in a violin seminar at the Pelion festival with Apollos Grammatikopoulos.
Since 2018 she has been teaching violin and music pre-education at the Philippos Nakas Conservatory in Thessaloniki and violin at the MusicArt-New Conservatory in Kozani.
