Irini Varthakouri was born in 1982 and grew up in Paros. Coming from a well-known musical family, she started piano lessons from an early age. At the age of 18, she moved permanently to Athens where she started her first vocal and technical lessons alongside her studies as a 2D & 3D Photorealistic Architectural Designer.

In 2023, she received the degree in modern singing with Honors from the "Philippos Nakas Conservatory" with professors Teri Vakirtzoglou and Kostas Constantinou in modern singing and Music Theory - Jazz Harmony respectively. The love she had for Brazilian music from a young age guided her in 2012 to form, together with renowned musicians, a band with exclusively Brazilian repertoire, "BANDA VALEU". Their collaboration lasts over 10 years having made numerous appearances receiving excellent reviews and playing at festivals and music scenes in Athens and beyond, such as at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center,  "Afrikana " jazz bar,  "Faust ",  "Floral ", "The Zoo", "Fougaro-Nafplio" "Brazilian day in Athens-Zappeion" etc. Until today, Irini Varthakouri has collaborated with many well-known musicians in the field, such as with G. Danis, T. Chatziaanagnostou, D. Papadopoulos, G. Kontrafouris, with S. Kastanis in "Stavros tou Notu", with "De sol à sol" at the Athens Concert Hall and with the female vocal group "'Les Trois Femmes" in orchestrations by M. Papasifakis. Discographically, she participated in the tribute "Rereading Mikis Theodorakis" with the song "Chove na favela", which is the Brazilian arrangement of "Raining in the slum", which received excellent reviews. From 2021 to 2024 she was an active member of the "Nakas Gospel Choir" with conductor Teri Vakirtzoglou. In the choir she was Alto Leader and choir assistant (scores, organization, etc.), having collaborated with the Boston Gospel choir "Joyfull Voices of Inspiration" as well as the "More House School Choir" from England.
