Amalia Giannopoulou studied at the Athens Conservatory (class of El. Papastavros). After obtaining her diploma in 1995 with honors at the Philippos Nakas Conservatory (class of Dim. Magriotis) she studied with Dimitris Patras in Thessaloniki. She participated in cello seminars as well as orchestra seminars in Greece and abroad. Permanent member of the Orchestra of Colors from 1995 to 2012. She regularly performs in chamber music concerts with various groups in Athens and other Greek cities. She has participated in concerts of the State Orchestra of Athens, the Orchestra of the National Opera and the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra. From 1998 to 2010 she collaborated with mime Isabelle Schweitzer in pantomime performances in Greece and abroad. She has appeared as a musician with various theater groups (Met'Embodion Dance Theater, Art Theater, Double Cupid, Tzeni Karezi Theater, Contretemps Berlin Ensemble de Danse Baroque, etc.). In the summer of 2002 she participated in a tour of Hellenica Camerata in North, Central and South America. She teaches at the Philippos Nakas Conservatory. She is a cooperating member of the Athens Philharmonic Orchestra and participated in the orchestra's tour to China in December 2019.
