Lydia Angelopoulou (Mezzo Soprano at the National Opera of Greece since 1995, Drama and Lyric Song Professor at the Philippos Nakas Conservatory) was born in Athens. She studied chemistry at the University of Athens. She began her musical studies at an early age, taking piano, music theory and singing lessons with Professor Georgilopoulou Georgia (graduating with Distinction and first prize).
She continued her studies at the Dramatic Theatre School of the Athens Conservatory, later attending courses in Vienna with Kammersangerin Olivera Miljakovic. She graduated at the Music Academy in Vienna with the professor Helene Mezriczky-Karusso. She has participated in concerts in Vienna (Amneris in the opera 'Aida in Verdi), Salzburg, Turin and in several other cities. She has collaborated with the Greek Radio and Television, the Greek Camerata and the National Opera, performing leading roles.

She has appeared in leading roles in several operettas for many years at the National Opera. A significant success was her participation at the 'Principal Theatre' of Valencia, where she performed Mikis Theodorakis' 'Zorba' with the Symphony Orchestra of Warsaw, and also at the Herodus Atticus Theatre at the Athens Festival. Moreover, Lydia Angelopoulou has collaborated in Athens Chamber Opera performances, featuring in projects such as 'The Philosopher of Countryside' by Gallupi and 'The opportunity makes the Thief' of Rossini, etc.
She has also appeared at the Athens Concert Hall at the Opera's Studio first performance: 'Le Nozze di Figgaro'.
Many performances in the recent years have brought her in the most prominent concert halls in Greece.
