Thodoris Korakas studied at the Venizelio Conservatory of Chania and the Hellenic Conservatory (fugue degree 1993 – class of Ioannis Metzelopoulos and piano diploma 1994 – class of Marina Manitaki).
In 1996 he graduated from the Department of Music Studies of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki with a degree in Musicology and Music Pedagogy.
He continued his piano studies with Christoph Lieske (1995-96) in Winterthur (Switzerland) and at the Pedagogical Department (I.G.P.) of the Mozarteum University in Salzburg (Austria), in the class of Brigitte Engelhard (1996-99) from where 1999 graduated with distinction.
He attended piano seminars with Karlheinz Kämmerling, Giorgos Hatzinikos, Karl Ulrich Schnabel, Vasileia Efstathiadou, singing accompaniment seminars with Hartmut Höll, while he participated in musical motor education seminars in Greece and Austria.
His pedagogical presence as a piano teacher began in 2001 at the Hellenic Conservatory (2001 – 2013) where, alongside piano, he also teaches the course of piano pedagogy, while he is also in charge of the conservatory's piano curriculum.
He has given individual recitals and participated in chamber music and vocal concerts in Greece and Austria.
In 2001, he was appointed to primary education and taught the Music Education course at the Rallia Experimental Primary Schools of Piraeus (2001 – 2020), where from the educational year 2012 - 2019 he was a member of the Scientific Supervisory Board and from 2012-2020 he held the position of Deputy Director of the school unit.
Since the academic year 2013-14 he has been teaching piano at the Philippos Nakas Conservatory, while from November 2021 he is a PhD candidate at the University of Athens.
