Popi Malapani studied the piano at the Municipal Conservatory of Kalamata, under the guidance of Stathis Gyftakis, Maria Papapetropoulou and Neli Semitekolo. She continued her music studies at the Academy of Essen, in Germany, with Prof. Michael Roll and Prof. Till Engel; she graduated in 2005. For the next two years she attended master classes for singing accompaniment with Prof. Xavier Poncette and Alexander Schmalcz. She has also attended numerous piano master classes with Duo Ganev, Lilia Bojiadjieva, Domna Evnouchidou etc.

At the same time she studied Archaiology at the Kapodistriako University of Athens (1995-2000).

Popi has played many solo and chamber music recitals both in Greece and Germany.

Since the summer of 2021, she has been responsible for the production of the Aegina International Music Festival and since October 2022, in the context of her collaboration with the Kalogeropouleio Foundation of Corinthos, she is responsible for the “We Listen to the Young” Program.

Since September 2023, as a member of the D-HUB incubator of the DIAZOMA association, she is Responsible for Contemporary Culture Actions.

Since 2015 she works at the Philippos Nakas Conservatory in Athens as a piano teacher and accompanist.
