Popi Ioakeimidou was born and raised in Thessaloniki. She began her musical studies at the Macedonian Conservatory of Thessaloniki, where she completed the advanced theory courses in harmony, counterpoint and fugue with honours in the class of D. Athanasiadis. At the same time, she continued her studies in piano, having obtained her degree with honours, at M. Vlachopoulou's class. She actively participated in small courses-auditions with professor N. Astrinidis and later T. Sakellarios. Her teaching experience starts from 1996. She worked in various music schools in Thessaloniki teaching theory, piano and electrig organ. From 1998 and for a number of years she was a professor of advanced theory and piano at the Florina Conservatory in the region of Western Macedonia. In 2021 she obtained her piano diploma with professor D. Dimopoulos from the same conservatory. As of September 2023, she has been teaching piano and electric organ at the Philippos Nakas Conservatory - Thessaloniki subsidiary.
