Leto Thomou was born in Athens. She started piano lessons at the age of six and at the age of seventeen she graduated from the National Conservatory (class of M. Mavrikou) with 1st prize and Excellence in exceptional performance.

She then continued her studies with Constantin and Julia Ganevi in Sofia, Bulgaria and with Germaine Mounier at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris from where she graduated with the Diplome Superieur d'Execution de piano with the highest distinction.

Among others, her teachers were Alexander Jenner and Rudolph Keher at the Academy of Vienna, Jenny Jacharieva, Achilles delle Vigne and Ralph Nattkemper in Brussels, as well as Germaine Mounier at the Summer Academy of Salzburg.

She was awarded at the international piano competitions Concorso Pianistico giovani pianisti in Marsala, Albert Roussel in Sofia and Guilde in Paris, as well as the H.O.N competition in Athens.

She has performed as soloist with orchestras, in chamber music concerts and individual recitals in many European countries (Greece, Italy, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Ukraine,) always receiving very good reviews.

She has recorded for the State Radio and Television of Greece, Bulgaria and Ukraine as well as for the Vatican Radio.

In addition to the masterpieces of the classical period, her repertoire also includes works by Greek and foreign composers of the modern repertoire, many of which she has presented in the first Panhellenic performance. In this context, she has collaborated with the music ensemble "Skalkotas", with the Greek Composers Union,  with the Orchestra of Colors, as well as with the Camerata - Orchestra of Friends of Music.

In the spring of 2012, the cd "metamorphosis" was released, in collaboration with the oboist Spyros Kondos, with works by contemporary Greek composers, for piano and oboe, recorded in a world premiere, receiving an Honorary Distinction from the Union of Greek Theater and Music Critics as the best CD of Greek interest for the year 2012.

In November 2016, the CD "Nostalgica utopica" was released in collaboration with the flutist Nikos Nikopoulos with works for flute and piano by Evangelos Kokkoris.

She is a piano professor at the Philippos Nakas Conservatory, and is the artistic director of the Nea Smyrni and Agia Paraskevi branches.
