CV

Giorgos Anagnostopoulos started playing guitar at the age of 10 with Alexandra Christodimou and Yiannis Petridis. After a short stay in Wales as a scholar of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, where he studied with John Mills, he returned to Greece to continue his studies. In particular, he enrolled in the Department of Music Studies of the University of Athens (from where he graduated in 2021), simultaneously taking advanced theoretical courses with Thanasis Koumenteris (Bachelor of Flight, 2019) and guitar with Michalis Kontaxakis.

In addition to the academic degrees he received with Michalis Kontaxakis (Diploma with Honors and "First Prize", 2016, and Postgraduate Degree -Master, 2018- both from the Contemporary Conservatory of Athens), he also engaged in the study and promotion of overlooked works in tonal idiom written during the second half of the twentieth century. He has participated in various ensembles, focusing mainly on the music of the last century. He has performed in concerts in Greece, Spain and the United Kingdom and on his travels has been taught by some of the most prominent teachers internationally (among others: Leo Brouwer, Ricardo Gallén, Zoran Dukic, Rene Izquierdo, Dejan Ivanovic, Gabriel Bianco, Matthew McAllister, Graham Anthony Devine, Duo Melis, Hubert Käppel, Antigoni Goni, Antonis Hatzinikolaou). Finally, he has been distinguished in competitions in Greece and abroad.

His collaboration with the Philippos Nakas Conservatory in the field of teaching began in 2024.
