Composer, pianist, music educator and writer Iosif Vallet received a piano diploma with Phifi Matou (A' prize) and attended seminars in the Alexander technique in London with the Royal Academy professor Lois Philips, and in Thessaloniki and Sofia with Philippina Philippova. He studied composition with Thodoros Antoniou and received a composition diploma in 2000. He studied musicology at TMS Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and then completed a doctorate in composition. He actively participated in the Darmstadt Summer Academy in 2006, where he attended classes by Georges Aperghis, Helmut Lachenmann, Beat Furrer and Tosio Hosokawa.

His works have been performed: at the 1999 Rome Biennale with the songs "Written", in Boston, Luxembourg, Brussels, Darmstadt, Graz, also at the Hellenic Music Festivals, the Athens and Nafplion Festival, and the National Radio and Television. He has received commissions from: the Athens Concert Hall and the National Opera. He received the 1st prize in the composition competitions "G. A. Papaioannou" (2005), "Synthermia" (2007), Opera for children in Thessaloniki (2007), and was distinguished in the international competitions "ALEA III" (2003) and "Queen Elisabeth" of Belgium (2008). His works have been performed by the Athens State Orchestra, National Orchestra of the Helenic Radio Television, Alea III, Athens Municipality Symphony, Orpheus Soloists, and the ensembles: Greek Contemporary Music Group, Dissonart, Melos Brass, L'Anima string quartet, Winds of the Athens State Orchestra, and the music ensemble "Tetrachord".

He is a member of the Union of Greek Musicians. His works and theoretical treatises are published by Panas Music, and his discography by Irida Classical and Subway Music. He has taught in the past in Thessaloniki as a pianist and as a teacher at Aristoteleion University. He is a scientific collaborator of the Institute of Educational Policy in the field of the detailed program for music schools.

As of the year 2024-25 he is teaching Advanced Theory and Composition at Philippos Nakas Conservatory.
