Fani Kosona (b. 1969 – Athens), PhD in music composition with the application of mathematical models (Ionian University), was a student of Theodoros Antoniou receiving a Diploma in Composition in 2004 with Honors and Excellence in memory of G.A. Papaioannou. Her musical studies include: Piano Diploma - Marina Chanidou-Dimitriadou's class and Harmony degree - Spyros Klapsi's class at the National Conservatory; she continued her musical studies in France (Paris) from 1994 to 1998, studying advanced theory, chamber music and piano, obtaining degrees in counterpoint and fugue at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris with Jean-Paul Holstein and Michel Merlet respectively, as well as in orchestration with Patrice Sciortino at the Scola Cantorum, while studying piano and chamber music with distinguished pianists such as Bernard Ringeissen and Jacques Lagarde.

Her works are regularly presented in many large concert halls in Athens and Greek events in general (Athens Concert Hall, Athens Festival, "A Bridge over Syngrou" - concert cycle of the Onassis Foundation etc.) and abroad, having collaborated with numerous distinguished musicians and ensembles and participating in international contemporary music festivals (indicative recent participations: International Review of Composers 2019 and 2021 in Belgrade, "World New Music Days 2022" of the International Society of Contemporary Music (ISCM)).

Also, her works are included in personal discographies of important artists - for example, the work "Diathlassis" is included in the Greek Classics series of Naxos (cd entitled "Flute Recital" by Katrin Zenz).

Her research spans the entire range of contemporary composition techniques, including in many cases the approach of mathematical modeling of the musical work. The goal of these experiments is the expansion of the musical and structural ontological space, through what she calls the "topological design" of the musical work.

She has been teaching Advanced Theory since 1998 and Composition since 2004, while she has also held numerous seminars and workshops on composition techniques and analysis of 20th and 21st century works, and contemporary notation issues.

She is a member of the Greek Composers Union, having also been a member of the Board of Directors from 2013 to 2018. Since 2022 she is collaborating with Philippos Nakas Conservatory.
