Athina Kriekouki was born in Elefsina. She started piano and organ at an early age at the National Conservatory of Elefsina, continuing at the Philippos Nakas Conservatory, where she obtained a Yamaha Music Foundation grade 5 degree in the electone organ and in Fundamentals. She also holds advanced theory degrees in Harmony - Counterpoint - Fugue having studied with Vassilis Mitropoulos. She has attended the annual Music Technology seminars of the Philippos Nakas Conservatory.
Athina entered the field of education by teaching music and English for a period of five years at a Kindergarten. At the same time, she taught electric organ and piano for seven years at the Cultural Center of Elefsina.
Since 1992, Athina has been working with the Philippos Nakas Conservatory, having taught el. organ and electone in the conservatories of Athens and also in Corinth, while from 1999 until now she has been teaching Yamaha's Junior Music Course system to the young students of the Conservatory. In 2006, having participated in the seminars organized by Yamaha with German music educators, she became specialized in the "Robbie-Teddy" systems for babies and toddlers. At the same time, in collaboration with Christofylli Tsitaki, she oversaw the adaptation and writing of the Robbie-Teddy systems books in Greek, contributing to the establishment of the systems in Greece. From 2006 to 2022, as in charge of the Robbie-Teddy systems for Greece, she supervised the training and seminars of the system's teacher candidates.
At the same time, as part of her collaboration with Yamaha Europe, in 2019 and 2020 she held seminars for prospective teachers on the Robbie-Teddy system in Spain & Italy.
In the years 2007 and 2008, Athina, looking for ways to communicate with children through music, worked on writing together with Elsa Nakou the musical fairy tale Melodenia Politia, which was published by Kalentis Publishing with original music by Kostas Christodoulou. The book was widely acclaimed. In 2010 it was chosen by the Thessaloniki Concert Hall as the theme of its Christmas show. Similar performances have been held in schools nationwide.
