Manolis Kottoros was born in Athens in 1980. He is a graduate of the high school of Patmiada Ecclesiastical School and the evening Ecclesiastical Lyceum of Athens.

He studied classical violin and holds a degree in Byzantine Music from the Hellenic Conservatory and a degree in harmony from the Nikos Skalkotas Conservatory. He continued his studies at the Achaean Conservatory of Polyphonic Patras where he also received a diploma in Byzantine music.

He is a graduate of the Theological Faculty of the University of Athens.

He attended violin and tropical oriental music lessons in Istanbul with teacher Adnan Karaduman. He has repeatedly collaborated with bands and with popular artists of Greek traditional music. He collaborates with popular and art song artists and appears in concerts and festivals both in Greece and abroad (France-Italy-Holland-Slovenia-Belgium-Germany-America-Canada-Argentina-Egypt-Turkey-Norway-Sweden-Romania -Israel-Cyprus-Australia etc.).

He has an active presence in the Greek discography and many television appearances. He edited the edition "Songs and goals from Agathonisi"-2000, "Friends when they get together" (Songs of the Cyclades-2010) and has three personal records "Southern Sporades" Songs from the Dodecanese-2006, "Sea Song"-2011, "The Dodecanese"-2017. He taught traditional violin in conservatories, music schools and the Piraeus Music School and has participated as a lecturer in Byzantine and traditional music seminars and conferences.
