Giannis Papatriantafillou holds a double bass diploma from the class of Takis Kapoyannis and has studied jazz music with Wayne Dockery, Ron Mc Clure, John Goldsby and Curtis Lundy.
He has collaborated with great musicians from Greece and abroad such as: Ralph Peterson, Jimmy Cob, Alex Foster, Ron Afiff, Soweto Kinch, Abraham Wilson, Denis Baptist, Miles Grifith, Ray Santisi, Tony Remy, Ron Savage, Takis Paterelis, Giorgos Kontrafouris, Giorgos Trantalidis, Giotis Samaras, Alexandros Ktistakis, Dimitris Tsakas, Dimitris Kalatzis et al.
He has also collaborated with great Greek singers and songwriters such as Sokratis Malamas, Alcinoos Ioannidis, Thanasis Papakonstantinou, Loukianos Kilaidonis, Pantelis Thalassinos, Haris Alexiou, Eleftheria Arvanitaki, Tania Tsanaklidou, Orfeas Peridis and others.
He has been teaching double bass and electric bass in the Modern Music Department of the Philippos Nakas Conservatory for the last 25 years
