Antonis Apergis was born in 1963. He started playing the guitar before he even went to school. At the age of 8, he took guitar lessons with Alekos Bouras at the National Conservatory. At 11 he started learning the recorder, at 20 he picked up the oud and the double bass, while at 29 he continued with the canon and the ney. Later he focused on fretless guitars.
Alongside his activity as a performer, Antonis Apergis gained wide recognition through his compositional and orchestral work. From a young age he was transcribing pre-classical music, composing for the puppet theater and orchestrating for a big band. His discography includes, among others, eight personal records: "o Kipos" (2024), "Which land and which homeland" (2020), "Stories of Calm in the Storm" (2017), "Primitive Fights with a Crocodile" (2013). , "Starry Night" (2006), "The Wreath" (2005), "Icarus" (2005), "Make Wings and Fly" (1998).
He has taught electric guitar lessons at the National Conservatory and the Central Conservatory, as well as Greek traditional music lessons at the Pallini Music School, the School of Byzantine Chant and the Folk and Traditional Music Department of the University of Ioannina.
He has worked as a musician and arranger with important singers and performers of Greek folk and contemporary music, such as: Manolis Angelopoulos, Chronis Aidonidis, Sofia Assychidou, Manos Achalinotopoulos, Antonis Vardis, Eleni Vitali, Glykeria, Dakis, Eleni Dimou, Stratos Dionysiou, Elpida, Alcinoos Ioannidis, Lizeta Kalimeri, Melina Kana, Areti Ketimes, George s Kontrafouris, George Koros, Haris Lambrakis, Manolis Lidakis, Iota Lydia, Tzimis Makoulis, Martha Mavroidis, Takis Morakis, Nikos Xydakis, Poly Panou, Katerina Papadopoulou, Thanasis Papakonstantinou, Sofia Papazoglou, Manolis Pappos, Nikos Paraoulakis, Kostas Pavlidis, Domna Samiou, Nikos Saragoudas, Sokratis Sinopoulos, Eleni Tsaligopoulou, Christos Tsiamoulis, Iordanis Tsomidis, Nefeli Fasouli, Giannis Haroulis, Nikos Hatzopoulos, the Psarantonis family, Haig Yazdjian, Salem Bali, "Ashkabad", and the salsa group " Tierra Negra".
