Kostis Antonopoulos was born in Thessaloniki in 1982 and started playing the guitar at a very young age.
In 2001, he successfully completed his studies in electric guitar, next to his teacher Vangelis Tsotridis, at the Kostas Matsigos Conservatory, from where he also received a degree in classical harmony. At the same time he completed his studies in sound engineering and music technology.
He continued at the Music University (conservatory) of Rotterdam, Holland “CODARTS” specializing in jazz guitar and advanced theory, next to professors Ed Verhoeff, Paul Hock, Ronald Schmitz, Peter Niewerf and Albert Ab Schaap. During his studies in the Netherlands, he had the opportunity to attend and participate in seminars of legendary Jazz musicians, such as: John Abercrombie, Charlie Haden, Mike Stern, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Pat Martino, Zakir Hussain, Trilog Kurtu, Peter Erskin, Joshua Redman, Eric Harland, Aaron Parks, Matt Penman, Eric Alexander, Roland Dyens and Philip Catherine.
He graduated with a Bachelor's degree in June 2011.
Since then, he lives in Thessaloniki, has collaborated with many important musicians, is a key member of the Big Band of Northern Greece and has taken part in dozens of recording projects.
He continues to teach and be an active musician in various Jazz and other genres. As of 2022 he started collaborating with the Philippos Nakas Conservatory Thessaloniki.
