Born in Larnaca, Cyprus, Lia Vissi started piano lessons at the age of 5 in the National Music School of her home town.
From 1973 to 2002, Athens, Greece was her permanent residence. Then she returned to Cyprus. In Athens she continued her studies in classical music at the National Conservatory of Greece and acquired her piano diploma. She started teaching piano and continues till today.

In the course of her studies, she also attended classes on opera singing, and for the past decade she is teaching contemporary singing as well.

Lia Vissi participated as a vocalist in many albums of famous artists in Greece, and also sang for the most succesfull jingles until 1990. She appeared as a solo singer on Eurovision Song Contest (1985) representing Cyprus and since then her career continued with her own albums where we meet her as a singer, composer, lyricist and producer.

She has cooperated with important artists in clubs and concerts in Greece, Europe, Australia and USA.

She also expanded her musical activities by writing music for theatre, series and shows for the Greek television, and partisipating in a film of Christos Siopahas.

Since 1998 very often she has cooperated with the National Theatre of Cyprus participating in successful performances.

During the years 1988- 1997she created 4 clubs in Athens, together with friends who shared the same ideas and dreams: OMNI, CINEMA, ETC, MASKES.

Except for her performances there, many artists who became famous later on started their careers appearing in these clubs.
