Blues Piano - From History to Practice | Seminar with Manos Saridakis

From the roots of African-American culture in the 19th century, the blues formed the basis of many musical movements, such as jazz and rock. Great pianists such as Pinetop Perkins, Otis Spann and Champion Jack Dupree left their mark, with the distinctive combination of emotional intensity and rhythmic precision that became a hallmark of blues piano.
The seminar will focus on both the theory and practice of blues piano, emphasizing the technique, improvisation and aesthetics of the genre.
