On Monday, February 17, a diverse and highly dance-oriented program will be presented at the Philippos Nakas Concert Hall.
Pianist Rie Shimada, clarinetist Yiannis Karagiannidis and pianist Nikolas Prevezianos, members of Trio Cosmos, will present works that are rarely presented in Greece.
In the first part of the concert, we will enjoy Paul Juon’s Trio Miniature, a transcription by the composer himself from his work “Satyrs and Nymphs” (Op. 18). With a romantic musical language, inspired by mythology, Juon takes us on a journey to fantastical worlds full of magic, without any unnecessary sophistication. Also the Robert Muczynski trio, which raises rhythms and pulses with its romantic mood, intense articulation, 5/8 and 7/8 meters and clear jazz influences. The composer is among the top of the 20th century, offering works with a special musical language that magnetizes listeners.
In the second part of the evening, the 8 pieces by Max Bruch, originally written for piano, clarinet and viola, will complete the program. Bruch, inspired by Schumann, composed short pieces based on romantic and fairy-tale motifs. These works, written for his son Max Felix, maintain a conservative romantic style of the era, far from the modern trends of Stravinsky, Bartók and Schoenberg.
Each piece has its own grace and beauty, inviting us on a unique musical journey!
We are waiting for you on February 17th to enjoy this magical experience together!
