One of the most exciting baritones of his generation, Dimitris Tiliakos, born in Rhodes, he began his vocal training at the Athenaeum Conservatory alongside Kostas Paskalis and he won the "Maria Callas Scholarship”, which allowed him to continue his studies in Munich at the “Hochschule für Musik und Theater” alongside Daphne Evangelatos (opera) and Donald Sulzen (Lied). Shortly thereafter he made his debut at Prinzregententheater in Munich as Conte d’ Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro and won the "Willy Domgraf-Fassbaender» prize.
Dimitris Tiliakos has already trod the boards of some among the major theaters of the world, including New York Metropolitan Opera, London Royal Opera House, Opéra National de Paris, Teatro Real in Madrid, Teatro Liceu in Barcelona, Opernhaus Zürich, Opéra de Monte-Carlo, La Fenice Opera House in Venice, Grand Théâtre de Luxembourg, Greek National Opera, Opéra de Nice, Royal Danish Opera, La Monnaie in Brussels, Staatsoper Hamburg, Tchaikovsky Concert Hall and Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall, Wiener Konzerthaus, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Festival di Spoleto, Lucerne Festival, Staatsoper Stuttgart, Semperoper Dresden, Cologne Opera and many others.
He worked with such conductors as Teodor Currentzis, Myung-Whun Chung, James Conlon, Renato Palumbo, Evelino Pidò, Alain Altinoglu and Marc Minkowski, and with such stage directors as Graham Vick, Claus Guth, Dmitri Tcherniakov, Robert Carsen, Bob Wilson and many others.
His discography and Dvd releases include Verdi's Macbeth for Bel Air Classiques with the Paris National Opera Orchestra, Dido and Aeneas under the baton of Theodor Currentzis, Francesca da Rimini for Bel Air Classiques, Schubert’s Winterreise for Navis Classics with pianist Vassilis Varvaressos, as well as Mozart's Don Giovanni (title role) for Sony Classical under the baton of Teodor Currentzis, a recording which won the BBC Music Magazine Award 2017, the Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik, and the Edison Klassiek.
Dimitris Tiliakos teaches the art of singing in private master classes in Greece as well in European universities such as the Royal Academy of Music in Brussels, the Music Academy in Stuttgart, etc.
