Through the Balkans... Omicron2Duo Giorgos Skrivanos, flute Giannis Efstathopoulos, guitar

Flutist Giorgos Skrivanos and guitarist Giannis Efstathopoulos make up the Omicron2 Duo and in their concert that will be given on Friday, January 17, at 8:30 p.m. in the Philippos Nakas Concert Hall they will present works by composers who write themes and dances in traditional style from Balkan countries. The two musicians will highlight a multi-stylistic landscape through the classic sound of a flute and a guitar. The demanding rhythms, percussive techniques, extended guitar harmonies are contrasted with exotic timbres and modern flute techniques, often outlining traditional wind instruments such as the ney or the kavali.

Omicron Ensemble was created in 2014.
It is a network of artists that aims to highlight the complementary relationship between the various art forms of music production and performing arts. At the same time, they perform concerts in the "traditional" way of listening with subsets of the wider ensemble, giving the audience the opportunity to explore the full spectrum of the instruments' repertoire that extends from the Baroque to the modern era.
