Piano recital Evelina Antemisari | Series of concerts for young musicians

Going through its 34th cycle, the concert series "The Young for the Young" is a platform for expression and an important institution for the promotion of distinguished young performers of classical music. A young outstanding pianist with diverse artistic interests and distinctions in various fields beyond piano performance, Evelina Anthemisari, gives a recital on Saturday, April 1 at 8 pm. in the Philippos Nakas Concert Hall, performing among other one of her own compositions.

Evelina Antemisari was born in Athens in 2005. At the age of 6 she started piano lessons with her mother Chrysa Diagourta. At the age of 11, she continued her piano studies with the internationally renowned pianist Dimitris Toufexis. She also plays violin and alto saxophone at a high level.
In July 2020 (at the age of 14) she received the Piano Diploma from the Philharmonic Conservatory of Pefki with teacher Dimitris Toufexis, obtaining the maximum score "Excellent 1st Prize" and was awarded the Conservatory's Gold Medal.
She also holds a Degree in Harmony with a grade of "Excellent 10", Grade 6 Music Theory (ABRSM) with teacher Th. Brutzakis as well as Grade 8 Violin Performance (ABRSM) with teacher G. Mandylas. She has studied Jazz improvisation on alto saxophone with teacher A. Ladopoulos.
She is a member of the Pierce American College of Greece Orchestra (2017-present) and the internationally awarded Rosarte Choir (2012-2019). She has participated in a large number of concerts in Greece and abroad and has distinguished herself in pan-Hellenic and international Composition, Piano, Physics and Mathematics competitions.
Some of her latest compositions that have been awarded and performed publicly are:
• "Hades and Persephone" work for flute, violin, cello and piano (Honourable distinction at the 3rd ACT International Composition Competition, Thessaloniki 2022) 
• “Cadenza” for Mozart's Concerto No. 12, K 414 (Circolo Lirico di Bologna, 2022)
• “Lucid dream” - work for piano (Circolo Lirico di Bologna, 2022)
• “The voice of Cyprus” - work for orchestra and choir for the International Competition “Cyprus – Greece – Hellenes abroad: Educational Bridges 2022” (1st prize, Nicosia, 2022)
• “Revolutionary Act” – Orchestral work inspired by the 200th anniversary of the Greek revolution (Athens, 2021)
• “Blooming” – Music for the 4th International Animated Film Music Competition organized by the Athens Concert Hall (2020)
She has participated in Music Academies in Greece and abroad and has attended piano, composition and conducting seminars with the leading pianists, composers and conductors Robert Levin, Michael Korstick, Alain Lefevre, Jonathan Girard, Yiannis Hatziloizou, Konstantinos Destounis, Titos Gouvelis, Thodoris Tzovanakis, Lina Tonia, Dimitris Toufexis, Brandt Fredriksen, Jacques Rouvier, Peter Lang, Andreas Groethuysen and others.
Since 2017 she has been studying at the American College of Greece (Pierce) on a Music Scholarship, while she was awarded the ACG Pierce Orchestra Award for her valuable contribution to the College's orchestra.
She has already been accepted to continue her higher music studies in Piano and Composition from the Royal College of Music (London), the Royal Northern College of Music (Manchester) and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (Glasgow).
She is aware of issues of environmental protection and sustainable development and is an active member of the Hellenic Association for the Protection of the Marine Environment HELMEPA.
