The rich voice of the piano comes to join and converse with the velvety voices of the strings in a highly demanding, virtuosic and at the same time lyrical program of chamber music. Pianist Elena Christodoulou performs successively with the members of the string quartet Quattro Elementi, thus presenting three basic forms of chamber music, such as the piano trio, the piano quartet and the piano quintet. The concert includes the elegiac piano trio No. 1 by S. Rachmaninoff, the piano quartet by G. Mahler/A. Schnittke as well as D. Shostakovich's unique piano quintet. Also, the string quartet Quattro Elementi will perform Capriccio op. 81 No 3 by F. Mendelssohn.
