Going through its 34th cycle, the concert series "The Young for the Young" is a platform for expression and an important institution for the promotion of distinguished young performers of classical music.
Born in 2002, Dimitris Papakyriazis started piano lessons at the Athinaikon conservatory at the age of 8 with pianist and music teacher Evi Marinakis. He has won Piano Competitions: 3rd Prize in the Panhellenic Competition of Young Pianists in Andros in 2022, 2nd Prize in the Panhellenic Competition of H.O.N in 2019 and 1st Prize in the Panhellenic Competition of H.O.N in 2012. He also participated in the 18th International Piano Competition MozARTe at the Music Academy of Cologne-Aachen as well as the César Franck International Piano Competition in Brussels in 2022. In June 2019, he received his Piano "Ptychion" with Honors. In June 2021, he received the Piano Diploma with Honors - First Prize. At the same time he holds Grades 5, 6 and 8 and a DipLCM Diploma in piano from London College of Music.
He has actively participated in piano seminars-masterclasses with Aline Artignan, Lilia Boyadjieva, Pavlos Giallourakis, Christos Papageorgiou, Karolos Zouganelis, Martino Tirimo and Dimitris Toufexis. From 2021 he started a course of study with the internationally renowned Pianist Dora Bakopoulou. He has participated in a large number of concerts as a pianist, in artistic venues such as the Athens Concert Hall, Theocharakis Foundation, Herodeion, the Hellenic American Union, the "Parnassos" Philological Association, the "Anna and Maria Kalouta" theater, the Benaki museum and the theater of the Hellenic-French School of the Ursulines.
In December 2021, he took part in the tribute concert to young artists organized by the Psychikon Music and Cultural Association "Efterpi". In August 2022, as part of the 16th International Music Festival of Aegina, he took part in the concert "The Pianists". From September 2020 he accompanies the lyric song class of the internationally renowned Soprano Sonia Theodoridou at the Athinaikon Conservatory.
